Al Hilli Archaeological Park, Al Ain
Hili Archaeological Park is the location of a Bronze Age site in Al Ain, Emirate of Abu Dhabi, UAE. About 12 km north of Al Ain City, the village of Al Hilli became popular when its archaeological excavations were conducted starting in the late 1960s. Archaeological experts around the world have discovered remains of a settlement and tombs from the third millennium BC, which provide unique evidences of early life in the region. The other remains include settlements, tombs, and a falaj dating from the Iron Age.
In the Al Hilli Archaeological Park, people can discover the early history of Abu Dhabi in a relaxed garden atmosphere, which has made the park at Al Ain a popular destination in the region. The largest stone tomb in Al Hilli commonly called the Great Hilli Tomb which was built during the Umm Al Nar period (2700-2000 BC), is 2.5 metres high and 8 metres in diameter. Next to Al Hilli Archaeological Park is Hilli Fun City, a family park with various attractions, such as picnic facilities, roller coasters, and the Al Ain Ice Rink.
